(FBOP) - The adaptability among our classroom teachers combined with effective teaching practices resulted in a tidal wave of triumph with our literacy student population. The FY 2023 GED goal was set at 3,300 completions. As of September 30, 2023, 4,380 Literacy program students earned their GEDs!
Many realities from earning a GED credential materialize for adults in custody such as, career opportunities, increased earning potential, and a means to support their families. Additionally, it serves as a springboard for higher education opportunities; thus, the likeliness of experiencing unemployment and poverty upon release decreases significantly.
