U.S. Sentencing Commission Votes to Make Sentencing Guideline Changes Retroactive

(BOP) - The Bureau of Prisons (Bureau) is aware of the United States Sentencing Commission's vote on July 18, 2014 to make retroactive the recently approved reduction to the sentencing guideline for drug offenders. The guideline will go into effect on November 1, 2015 provided Congress does not take action to block it.

The Bureau has notified staff and inmates about the vote and has provided relevant information including the press release issued by the United States Sentencing Commission.
