Actively hiring at all 122 locations, the Bureau is currently averaging more than 200 new hires nationwide each month. Career Fairs and Hiring Events are being offered at various locations across the country. For example, in early December 2018, more than 260 potential applicants attended a Hiring Event at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) in Beaumont, Texas. More than 50 of those attendees received conditional offers of employment. In February, a Career Fair was held at FCC Allenwood, Pennsylvania attracting more than 60 potential applicants and, along with additional recruitment efforts, resulting in 40 individuals being hired. The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Talladega, Alabama sponsored a Hiring Event on April 5, 2019 and assisted more than 25 applicants. Ultimately, 13 Correctional Officers were hired and started with the Bureau on June 10, 2019. During the months of May and June, FCI Aliceville, Alabama hosted several recruitment events and have made conditional offers of employment for 5 Health Services positions and anticipate conducting interviews with over 100 Correctional Officer applicants in mid-July. In May, FCI Texarkana conducted a community out-reach regarding their hiring efforts resulting in 36 interviews and more than 15 new hires and FCI McKean held a career fair, multiple recruitment trips, and made a variety of community contacts resulting in 40 new hires. Since the beginning of June, FCC Coleman has conducted interviews and began the pre-employment phase of hiring 45 new Correctional Officers and, just this week, 32 new employees started at FCC Hazelton after successful career fairs and workshops were held during the previous three months.
