(BOP) - Attorney General Merrick Garland will officiate the Investiture of Colette S. Peters as the 12th Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 11 o'clock in the morning. The Department of Justice will livestream the ceremony on www.justice.gov/live.
Ms. Peters has 30 years of experience in public safety, having most recently served as Director of the Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC) since 2012. She was the first woman to serve as ODOC Director and provided oversight of 4,700 employees; a biennial budget of $2 billion; and the management of 14,700 incarcerated adults in 14 prisons across the state.
