(BOP) - Have you considered a career in Federal Law Enforcement? The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is hiring and we would love to meet you! Visit your local BOP institution on Saturday, December 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time to learn about a range of exciting career opportunities available nationwide - from Correctional Officer to Registered Nurse. There will be 121 BOP institutions open to you during this time with knowledgeable staff available to discuss your career and advise on the application process.

What to expect:

  • Be prepared to show two forms of identification
  • Speak with experienced staff at your nearest BOP institution
  • Obtain resume and application guidance

What to bring:

  • Two forms of ID (at least one photo ID)
  • Resume
  • Education transcripts (if applicable)
  • Veterans may bring a Member 4 copy of their DD214 and/or SF-15 application for 10-point preference and VA rating decision letter, if applicable

Federal requirements:

  • You must be under 37-years-old when hired; however, exceptions are made for certain hard-to-fill positions and for eligible veterans.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • All candidates are subject to a drug urinalysis, physical examination, background investigation and successfully completing the three-week course, "Introduction to Correctional Techniques."
