After a review of staffing levels after the implementation of the group recruitment incentive for Correctional Officers for hard-to-fill locations previously approved in 2019, the BOP is currently offering a 10% recruitment incentive for 17 federal prison locations. Individuals who have received firm offers of employment as Correctional Officers at one these 17 locations before June 30, 2020 are eligible for the recruitment bonus. All candidates are subject to a drug urinalysis, physical examination, and background investigation. If hired, individuals must successfully complete the three-week residential course, "Introduction to Correctional Techniques," in Glynco, Georgia and remain at the location where they were hired for a minimum of 24 months. Additionally, a group recruitment incentive for Correctional Officers for the hard-to-fill locations of MDC Brooklyn and MCC New York has been approved. Until further notice, the BOP is offering a 25% recruitment incentive for individuals who have received firm offers of employment as Correctional Officers at these two locations. All candidates are subject to a drug urinalysis, physical examination, and background investigation. If hired, individuals must successfully complete the three-week residential course, "Introduction to Correctional Techniques," in Glynco, Georgia and remain at the location where they were hired for a minimum of 24 months.
