Never forgotten.
In honor of heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service of their country.
Those who have never been in law enforcement cannot fully comprehend the courage and strength of character it takes to walk our path every day. They will never know how it feels when sallyport doors close, how it feels to be the lone housing officer during night shift, how it feels when you respond to an emergency, not knowing if one of your comrades is down or if you will be vulnerable during that response. But we fulfill our mission with dedication and resolve because we understand that our contributions to public safety outweighs the risk. That’s because law enforcement professionals respond to a unique calling – to protect the public at all costs. We carry out this responsibility despite the formidable challenges and dangers inherent to our work, without any expectation of recognition or praise. We stand our posts, keenly aware that this defines who we are and what we are meant to do. Henry David Thoreau stated that "The hero is commonly the simplest and obscurest of men." Our fallen staff were heroes in both life and death.
