The Correctional Programs Division (CPD) provides national policy direction and daily operational oversight of institution correctional services. CPD is responsible for the appropriate classification of federally incarcerated individuals; sentence computations; designations and transportation; AIC records; gang management and intelligence gathering; counter-terrorism efforts; case management; emergency preparedness, and discipline.
CPD also coordinates the Bureau's Victim and Witness Notification Program; ensures the collection of court-ordered obligations through the Financial Responsibility Program; reviews offenders for civil commitments as sexually dangerous persons; manages placements into the Federal Witness Security Program, and coordinates treaty transfers with other countries.
