Loneryl Burns
Loneryl Burns is the Assistant Director of the Administration Division. Ms. Burns began her career with the Federal Bureau of Prisons as an Accounting Technician at FCI Schuylkill (PA) in 1992. She continued to serve in positions of increasing responsibility, including Operating Accountant and Supervisory Operating Accountant at USP Atlanta (GA); Operating Accountant and Chief of the Financial Statements Section; Deputy Chief and later, Chief of the Finance Branch in Central Office (DC). In 2015, Ms. Burns was appointed as the Senior Deputy Assistant Director for the Administration Division in Central Office. Additionally, she served as the Acting Procurement Executive for several years until the position was filled in 2022. Ms. Burns was selected for her current position as Assistant Director for the Administration Division in May 2025.
As Assistant Director (AD), Ms. Burns serves as the agency's Chief Financial Officer and manages a broad range of responsibilities, overseeing essential financial and program functions such as budget development and execution, finance, procurement and property management, the Inmate Trust Fund program, facilities operations, capacity planning, and construction, including environmental assessments.
AD Burns received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Virginia State University. She has been a member of the Senior Executive Service since 2015.
