Christopher Gomez
Christopher Gomez is the Regional Director of the Mid-Atlantic Region. Mr. Gomez began his career with the Bureau of Prisons in 2000, as a Senior Officer at FCC Forrest City (AR). He served in positions of increasing responsibility, including SIS Technician and Lieutenant at FCC Forrest City, Lieutenant at FCC Pollock (LA), and Captain at FCI Milan (MI) and USP Big Sandy (KY). Mr. Gomez also served as Associate Warden at FCI Berlin (NH) and USP McCreary (KY); and as Warden at FCI Morgantown (WV) and USP McCreary. On January 30, 2022, he assumed the role of Senior Deputy Assistant Director for the Correctional Programs Division; a position he held until his selection as the Regional Director of the Mid-Atlantic Region in October 2022.
As Regional Director (RD) of the Mid-Atlantic Region, Mr. Gomez will oversee the operation of 21 Bureau of Prisons facilities, including two medical centers, three correctional complexes, and four high security penitentiaries. He will be responsible for the oversight and management of more than 6,200 employees, and the custody and care of approximately 27,000 offenders.
Mr. Gomez has been a member of the Senior Executive Service since 2020.
